Maria Laura Delle Monache, researcher in the NECS Team, works on traffic flow modelling. She has just received the “France-Berkeley-Fund Award for high-achieving younger researchers” with Samitha Samaranayake (Cornell University, PhD UC Berkeley). The prestigious American university rewards her commitment in creating strong and long-term relationship between France and the USA.

Grenoble Traffic Lab interface open to public
Since the 28th November 2016 the Grenoble Traffic Lab (GTL), an experimental platform for real-time traffic data collection is available to the public. Data is retrieved from a dense network of wireless sensors installed in the south ring of Grenoble (Rocade Sud in French), in the direction east-west from A41 to A480. The GTL is part of the ERC Scale-FreeBack project and it provides a service platform for testing new traffic estimation, forecasting and control algorithms with real-time data by using field tests and other realistic simulations.

Announcement of the ERC Advanced Grant 2015 Scale-FreeBack
The ERC Advanced Grant 2015 “Scale-FreeBack” has been launched in September 2016. The ERC will last 5 years and it’s primary funding will be used for recruiting PhD students and post-docs, and to conduct proof-of-concept studies. The overall aim of Scale-FreeBack is to develop holistic scale-free control methods of controlling complex network systems in the widest sense, and to set the foundations for a new control theory dealing with complex physical networks with an arbitrary size.
For more information you can find the project announcement and a presentation of the Principal Investigator Carlos Canudas de Wit on:
